Personnel qualified to plan, conduct, analyze, and evaluate environmental education programs or conduct environmental education are called environmental educators.
The state is committed to providing better environmental education services to the people and enhancing the quality and reliability of environmental education.
We are fostering environmental education experts with professional capabilities while operating the national professional qualification system for ‘environmental educators’.
In fact, environmental educators are not new qualifications, but originally, the qualification system was implemented under the name of social and environmental education instructors.
However, as the qualification system for environmental educators was reorganized from 2022, the legal status has increased from the acquisition of qualifications to the maintenance and strengthening of expertise.

The National Certification Environmental Educator qualification is divided into three levels.
Level 1 is the manager of an environmental education institution (establishment and management of the foundation), level 2 is the middle manager (planning and operation management),
Level 3 can be seen as performing the role of lecturer/commentator (education/commentary).

Environmental educator employment field
It is common for those who have obtained environmental education qualifications to work as professional lecturers, commentators, and teachers at environment-related educational institutions, exhibition/experience facilities, kindergartens and schools. According to Article 14 of the Enforcement Decree of the Environmental Education Act, one or more environmental education instructors are required to meet the requirements for designating social and environmental education institutions.
It is expected that the mandatory employment of environmental educators will gradually expand in the future as it specifies that they will be employed at all times.
By institutionalizing nationally recognized qualifications, I wonder if environmental educators will be needed not only in schools but also in many more places!

Environmental Educator Recruitment Schedule

In order to obtain an environmental education certificate, apply for a training course according to the recruitment schedule,
Completion of Basic Course and Evaluation > Completion and Evaluation of Practical Course in order to be issued an Environmental Educator Certificate.
For reference, the environmental educator operates only the 3rd and 2nd grade courses first, and the 1st grade course has not been opened yet.

The place that is currently recruiting for the curriculum is a training institute called “Nature’s Friend Research Institute”.
The basic course is a curriculum that is taken online and then taken offline.
The date of each training institution is different, so be sure to check the annual schedule
It would be a good idea to apply for the training course at the desired training institution and date!
It is said that environmental educators must complete only one training institution assigned to them, so please look carefully and apply!
In addition, there is no tuition fee for basic education courses that are conducted online.
